Youth Services

Mazzoni Center offers a number of programs and services aimed at educating and empowering young people, from creating safe school environments to providing youth-friendly drop-in hours at Mazzoni Center Family and Community Medicine one evening each week.  Our Community Health Educators also provide healthy sexuality workshops as well as trainings in cultural competency for those who work with youth.

Mazzoni Center has served the LGBT community’s health and wellness needs since 1979.  Serving trans* and gender expansive minors has been woven into the fabric of Mazzoni services for many years, and the challenges our youth face fuels the P.A.C.T.S. team to create inventive, holistic and comprehensive supports.  We recognize that trans* youth and their families have specific needs and questions, and we have developed a comprehensive approach to addressing them.

“Street Smart” is an engaging, highly interactive program aimed at helping young people between the ages of 13 and 24 learn to make healthier, more informed decisions - particularly when it comes to sexual behavior and the use of substances.

Wednesdays from 5 to 7 pm Mazzoni Center offers youth drop-in hours at our Family and Community Medicine practice at 809 Locust Street.

#A1pha builds on the leadership of young men and trans-identified youth of color who have sex with men.  As an #A1pha, you will be provided with tools to promote health, wellness, community building, and can become a certifed peer wellness educator.

Since our founding in 1979, Mazzoni Center has provided sexual health outreach and education services. We strive to promote health and wellness by providing LGBT-affirmative health education to youth and adults in schools, after-school programs, and various community settings.

Mazzoni Center's Ally Safe Schools Program works with staff and young people within Philadelphia schools and out-of-school time programs to help create safer, more welcoming, and more inclusive climates for LGBTQ youth.
