Strengthening support to TGNC youth during Covid-19 with Anna - Qwe're Coping Together

Being a teenager can be really hard and stressful! Trans, gender nonconforming, and nonbinary youth face unintended consequences of Covid-19. The current loss of life saving and positive social connections for trans and nonbinary teens can be difficult and ultimately harmful to a teen’s ability to emotionally regulate and manage stress. Mindfulness and grounding exercises, such as guided imagery or breathing exercises can be used as a tool for trans teens and youth to better manage their stress and cope through unexpected and challenging life events.

Research has demonstrated that when teens engage in mindfulness practices regularly, they are more likely to increase their capacities to manage depression, anxiety, suicidality, and overall coping. Join for a 15 minute guided imagery session! Anna Kiesnowski, LSW (pronouns she/her) is the Gender Affirming Services Manager in our Care Services Department.
