This has been a challenging week

This has been a challenging week, with a frightening political landscape, and a seemingly endless barrage of edicts from the new administration aimed at our and other marginalized communities that we are all trying to understand the impact of.

It’s a scary and uncertain reality. And there’s one thing we want you to be absolutely certain about: Mazzoni Center isn’t going anywhere.

The torch that was lit by a group of compassionate volunteers that included Dr. Peter Mazzoni 46 years ago has weathered countless storms that threatened to extinguish it. And yet that flame continues to burn, and we assure you Mazzoni Center will be a light upon our community for years to come. We are not going anywhere.

At the same time, as all of us are trying to navigate what this frightening new political reality means to us – our rights, our freedoms, our funding -- we wanted to share with you some of the sources we look to for reliable information. We hope they might prove to be valuable resources for you as well.

Some of our trusted sources include:

While we fully anticipate this is just the beginning of several challenging years, Mazzoni Center and our community will weather the storm, as we have for four-plus decades. We’ll experience times of sadness and celebration, fear and joy, and we’ll get through it as we always have best…knowing that our greatest strength is in our collective power.

Thank you for your continued trust and confidence in our leadership and staff to keep the torch lit. It’s a labor of abundant love.
