An Announcement about the Philadelphia Trans Wellness Conference

Dear PTWC community,

Thank you for your patience as we made important decisions regarding the Philadelphia Trans Wellness Conference over the past few months.

Recognizing the challenging landscape that our trans community is facing today, we believe that the current environment calls for a necessary shift from a single, concentrated event to year-round programming. In order to better serve the community and provide an ongoing support structure, we will be shifting to a series of programs that will be occurring throughout the year. This new series will happen instead of a single conference, and we are confident it will enable us to best serve the community.

Concurrent with that shift and reflecting this change in structure, we are excited to share that the community members of PTWC’s Interdisciplinary Review Committee and Continuing Education Review Committee have voted to rename the Philadelphia Trans Wellness Conference to the Charlene Arcila Trans Wellness Collective. This change honors the conference's founder, Charlene Arcila, and reflects that members of the trans community have attended the conference from across the country and around the world and we hope will continue to be engaged by this new format.

In order to gain a better understanding of what types of programming members of the trans, nonbinary, and gender-nonconforming community feel is most important and beneficial during the challenging and uncertain times we are in, we invited members of those communities to take a very brief survey to share their feedback with us via our newsletter list.

We will determine this year’s programming based on the feedback shared in this survey and welcome you to share the survey with your networks. The deadline for survey responses will be Friday, April 18, 2025. We ask that you do not share the survey on social platforms but send it directly to folks who may benefit. Mazzoni Center remains committed to serving the trans community, and we look forward to offering programming as the Charlene Arcila Trans Wellness Collective.

Thank you
