Youth Services

Mazzoni Center offers a number of programs and services aimed at educating and empowering young people, from creating safe school environments to providing youth-friendly drop-in hours at Mazzoni Center Family and Community Medicine one evening each week.  Our Community Health Educators also provide healthy sexuality workshops as well as trainings in cultural competency for those who work with youth.

Wednesdays from 5 to 7 pm Mazzoni Center offers youth drop-in hours at our Family and Community Medicine practice at 809 Locust Street.

HYPE is a workshop series for young gay and bisexual men of color.  Our skilled group facilitators work with young men around identifying and addressing the factors influence behavior including cultural, social, and religious norms, HIV/AIDS, relationship dynamics, and the social influences that racism and homophobia have on behaviors. Transgender individuals are also welcome to take part in HYPE.

Since our founding in 1979, Mazzoni Center has provided sexual health outreach and education services. We strive to promote health and wellness by providing LGBT-affirmative health education to youth and adults in schools, after-school programs, and various community settings.

Mazzoni Center's Ally Safe Schools Program works with staff and young people within Philadelphia schools and out-of-school time programs to help create safer, more welcoming, and more inclusive climates for LGBTQ youth.
