Drag glamour meets the gangster era at the Jersey Shore in the 2011 Miss’d America Pageant, which will take place in the Ballroom of Historic Boardwalk Hall on Sunday, January 16 at 8 p.m.

Comedian Suzanne Westenhoefer will serve as host for the pageant, the theme of which will be “Boardwalk Empress,” with set details and production numbers intended to replicate a 1920s Atlantic City speakeasy.  The show is written and directed by Robert "Sandy Beach" Hitchen, who also serves as co-host, with special appearances throughout the night by Miss’d America 2010 Miss Michelle Dupree (Scott Cooper), along with Erika Schiff and the Miss’d America Dancers, as well as several former Miss’d Americas.

Westenhoefer has been performing standup for nearly 20 years, and has appeared on “The Late Show with David Letterman” and “Sally Jesse Raphael,” along with starring in her own television specials for HBO, Bravo and LOGO TV. She also is starring in the second season of her Web drama “We Have To Stop Now.”

Tickets are now on sale for this festive and fabulous event, which last year raised $30,000 for regional and national non-profit organizations. Mazzoni Center is one of five charities designated as a beneficiary for the 2011 pageant, along with the National Gay and Lesbian Taskforce; Broadway Cares, Equity Fights AIDS; South Jersey AIDS Alliance; and the Schultz-Hill Scholarship Foundation.  Tickets are $35-$100.
