Community Health Education
Since our founding in 1979, Mazzoni Center has provided sexual health outreach and education services. We strive to promote health and wellness by providing LGBT-affirmative health education to youth and adults in schools, after-school programs, and various community settings.
Our Healthy Sexuality workshop series uses knowledge-based, affective and behavioral goals for people to understand sexuality, increase communication skills, and enhance their health and well-being. We work to address factors motivating behavior – including the role of sexual risk-taking as a part of social and emotional development. Our interactive approach incorporates students' beliefs and responses as part of the pedagogical strategy.
How to Bring the Healthy Sexuality Workshops to Your Site:
To schedule workshops, contact Qui Alexander, Community Health Educator, at 215-563-0652 x259 or qalexander@mazzonicenter.org.
You can schedule the whole series, or choose specific sessions from the workshop menu.
A workshop series can be scheduled consecutively during the week, once per week, once per month, or a variation, depending on your needs.
When scheduling a workshop, please be able to provide the dates that you are interested in, your time frame, your location, the number of participants, and any additional information that will help the Community Health Educator best address the participants' needs.
